Oh to be Young Again

Happy Thursday

Over at DS4J we have a new challenge , the theme is:

Challenge #68 - "Oh to be YOUNG again"

South Africa is celebrating YOUTH DAY on the 16th June, and I thought it would be a good time to do a challenge around this, to celebrate "being young". As we get older we tend to forget how wonderful it was to be young - the world was at our feet, we did not have that many responsibilities, the clothing industry was geared for young figures (sadly for us older fogies it still is!), and we 'knew everything' LOL.
If you are interested in reading about Youth Day in South Africa click HERE

So here is my card for this challenge, using the sweet image by Jen Lee called "Twiggy"

The image has been coloured with Copic markers, and cut out with Spellbinders Mega Decled Rectangles - Large & Small. The DP is created with the lovely new stamp set by Melanie Muenchinger called Pretty Patterns Two, available at Gina K Designs

Flower Power

Happy Sunday

Over at DS4J we have some great new images in the store, my card today uses the image "Flower Power" by the lovely Margy. I just love the retro feel of this image, and living in a sea side town I have seen a couple of these driving around, one of which belongs to a wonderful artisan jeweler who made both my wedding and engagement rings!

I have used various Gina K stamps to crete my DP and coloured the image with Copic markers. The die cut words are from Spellbinders Jewel Keys.

The Crafters Cafe with Rick St Dennis

Happy Friday

We are now on to week two of Mom and/or For a Woman with Rick St.Dennis Challenge. I am a huge fan of Rick's designs and I had so much fun working with Daphne Pickering Spring in Lucerne , it reminds me of an old photograph my Mother has of her Grandmother, so I decided to colour the image in sepia, and try to make it look a little like an old photo.

I have used Spellbinders Distressed Edges for the image and sentiment
