Outlawz Greetings Challenge

Happy Tuesday

This week over at the Outlawz Greetings challenge the theme is Anything Goes. We have 2 lovely sponsors this week

My first card uses images from the Melonheadz Bundle - Ugly Christmas Sweater

Outside

I used a 7x7 card base and cut a piece of red card stock to the same size, I then used Tonic Baby Rudolf to cut the aperture in the card. After embossing with Crafters Companion Cable Knit embossing folder,  I added the green strip and created the neck piece with Spellbinders Classic circles, these were then embossed with Cuttlebug Distressed stripes embossing folder. I stuck everything down to a thin sheet of yellow card and assembled Baby Rudolf by cutting him out several times in different colours.

 Inside

I created a pop-up card using Lawn Fawn's Every Day Pop-ups, added Spellbinders Stylised Trees to the upper part of the card and First Edition Baubles cut out of silver and gold glitter card.

I used a chevron background stamp and distress ink to colour the jumper, then adding Stickles to the chevrons for some more dimension.

My second card uses the Robyn's Fetish image Cabin in the Woods

I printed the image on watercolour paper and used my Gansai Tambi watercolours to colour the image. I created the scene with Lawn Fawn's Forest Boarders and Grassy Hillside Boarders.  I then created the frame with Spellbinders 5x7 Matting Basics and decorated it with Lawn Fawn's Jump for Joy. The sentiment is also by Lawn Fawn and is Celebration Scripty Sayings.

Creative Moments Challenge 107

Happy Wednesday

This time over at Creative Moments the theme is a straight Anything Goes

We have some wonderful sponsors for this challenge including

My first card uses the DS4Joy image - Leggy Lilly Winter Time

First I used a Marvey masking pen to mask the image,  and then used a Clarity Blank Mask and Spellbinders Petite Ovals to create an oval frame, I used a Clarity Stencil Brush  and distress ink to create the sky. I stamped Lawn Fawn's Snowy Backdrops in SU Baja Breeze one the top. I added some snow drifts still within the oval mask. After removing the masking fluid I coloured her with Copics. The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn's Winter Scripty Sayings.

My second card uses the East Wind Image - Aurora Love You

I stamped the white background with Just Right Doodle Roses, coloured with Copics and then re-stamped in Versa Fine black onyx ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder, the sentiment is from the same stamp set, I then used Crafters Companion Delicate Florals to emboss the whole piece. After colouring the image with Copics I used Spellbinders Grand Circles and Grand Scalloped Circles to create the frame. The sentiment is cut out with SU punches.

Outlawz Monday Greetings Challenge

Happy Monday

This week over at the Outlawz Greetings Challenge , the theme is Sparkle & Shine.
We have 2 wonderful sponsors this week

My first card uses the Lacy Sunshine image Mickie and Rory’s Royal Christmas Dance

I used watercolour paper and the watercolour/salt technique to create the background inside the window, I then did my own twist on the bokeh technique, by using a clarity stencil called Jills Bubbles and Gold pigment ink, instead of the usual white. I wanted the inside of the window to look warm and cozy compared to the cold frosty outside. The window is from Poppy Stamps and is called Grand Maddison Arched Window. I cut the frame 3 times to give a little more dimension to the card. The tree is Spellbinders Stylized Trees. The front is sponged with Tumbled Glass Distress ink and stamped with a slightly darker SU ink using Lawn Fawn Snowy Backdrops. The snow drifts are made with Spellbinders A2 Curved Boarders 1 and the snowflakes are also Spellbinders 2013 Snowflake Pendant. The sentiment is also from the same Lawn Fawn stamp set, and I used Everyday Sentiment Banners using the partial die cut technique to extend the die to fit the sentiment.

My second card uses the Bloobel image -Need Coffee, and yes this sure looks like me first thing in the morning :-)

Again I have been playing with watercolours and the salt technique, to create the background, I used the Scan N Cut to fussy cut the image and Lawn Fawn's Stitched Scalloped Boarders and Scripty Sayings to complete the card.

I printed everything up separately and used my perfect layers tool for the sentiment. I used my Scan N Cut for the brads & Boarders

My second card uses the Kitty Bee image - Santa Penguin

First I cut my card stock to make a 7"x7" card base and matting layers. I cut a frame in the centre using Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Circles, and then stamped the sentiment before embossing with Spellbinders A4 embossing folder Dainty Dots. I used 2 sizes of the circles to create a frame in navy card stock, this was then placed over the background that was created on watercolour paper with Lawn Fawns Snowy Backdrops, (this is also where the sentiment came from) I stamped in Versa Mark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I then coloured the background with Gansai Tambi watercolours in 3 shades of blue. The snowflakes and Christmas decorations are from 2 First Edition die sets that are exclusive to Hobbycraft here in the UK.

Newton's Nook

Happy Thursday

As you probably know I rarely if ever enter challenges, but recently discovering the wonderful Newton's Nook Designs.  I being a mad cat lady just had to get a set or two. Today I am using a stamp set called Naughty Newton, the images are just super cute. It also has a matching die set, but I was unable to purchase this here in the UK. If you live in the UK and love the US companies I can highly recommend a company called Seven Hill Crafts for all your US stamp & Die requirements. They stock many overseas brands and provide a friendly fast service. I will definatly be spending a lot more of my crafting pennies over at their store from now on.

Newton's Nook also have a blog with tons of inspiration for you, and if you would like to enter their challenges, you can snag a FREEBIE or three from  HERE

So on to my card, the theme on their Inky Paws Challenge this time is Cozy Plaids

So armed with my new stamp set and a couple of Faber Castelle pens I created this for the challenge

I created the plaid background using a thick white and standard silver pens. Naughty Newton is coloured with distress inks and fussy cut out. You can just see in the photo the scratch lines that I masked my stamp and stamped separately just above his paws. The sentiment is also in the same set, and is cut out with an EK Success punch. The ribbon buckle and ribbon are from my stash.
