Non-traditional Thanksgiving

Happy Monday

I do hope that all of you who celebrated Thanksgiving this weekend, had a wonderful time with your loved ones. I do not celebrate this holiday here in the UK, but believe me I do count my blessings every day, and have many things to be thankful for.

The challenge this week over at the Outlawz for the Greetings Card Challenge is a non-traditional thanksgiving project.

Here is a word from my friend and fellow DT AnaRy:

Hello everyone! It's thanksgiving week here in the US...we are saying thanks in a special way! So even if in your neck of the woods is not thanksgiving day..you can still participate! Being thankful is never out of fashion, right? : )

Create a Thanksgiving card that DOES NOT include Turkeys,Pilgrims, or Cornucopia. Traditional fall colors may be used.

Here is my card:

The wonderful image is from one of our sponsors Eureka Stamps It is called Harvest Basket. The pumpkin is a stamp and die from Memory Box called Great Pumpkin, the leaves are from my scrap pile and are cut using a Spellbinders die, the sentiment, ribbon, card and DP is all from Gina K Designs (by the way did you party with Gina last Thursday? The new stamp set releases are awsome)

Do check out my fellow design teams cards, they are just gorgeous and you can see them HERE

A Great Challenge

Happy Thursday

Yesterday over at DS4J we launched a new challenge:

CHALLENGE #55 - GIVING THANKS

November is Thanksgiving time in the USA and so we are inviting everyone to say a special THANK YOU in this challenge!  There are so many 'things/people' in our lives that we can be thankful for, and this challenge will now give you the opportunity to demonstrate just that!
We want you to make a card with the theme
GIVING THANKS
and it can be for anything - your cat, your mom/dad, the weather, your home, your friend etc.

NOTE: This will be a 3-week challenge, ending on 4th December 2012
My talented fellow Design Team "A" have produced some wonderful cards, and you can see them HERE

The images I have used for this card are Kitty Boy and Pooch, both from DS4J E-Shop

The story behind this card, and what I am thankful for is as follows:

I am thankful for my pets, I have had the dog since a puppy, a present from my Mum after loosing my first Husband to cancer, he has been loved all his life, and a great friend and comfort to me through the dark times in my life, the two cats are rescues, both seriously neglected and both seriously ill when arriving with us and both now well, and very much loved. I am also thankful for a very understanding husband who puts up with me chasing around the county rescuing animals in need and also the fact I have the health and resources to be able to help where I can.

We would love to see your creations over at the challenge, and we have some great prizes up for grabs:

The randomly drawn winner will win THREE images of your choice from the store, and 2 runners up 1 image each.
Of course, if you use a Digistamps4Joy image, you could win the big prize of $10 of images, and could be chosen as our Guest Designer!

Thank you for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your week, see you Sunday

Some New Releases

Happy Sunday

Today I have a couple of cards made with two of the new releases from DS4J, and if you pop back mid week there will be another one.

The new releases today are available HERE

I used Wisteria splendour to create my first card today:

Such a beautiful image, and it makes me look forward to spring and the wisteria coming into flower in my own garden. I have coloured the image entirely with Copic markers, and layered it on Grand Labels Twenty Three, the image was cut out using Grand Rectangles, and the embossing folder is Garden Lattice M-Bossabilites, I just adore the new A4 size folders, and I am so hoping Spellbinders will bring out more designs in this size.

My second card today I have used Jen's  Beatrix, the bead fairy:

I must confess the gorgeous Martha Stewart boarder punch I used here belongs to my good friend Brenda, thank you Bren for letting me borrow it. The Snowflake is a Memory Box die called Tivoli Snowflake, again this is all coloured with Copic markers, and some glitter pen added to the wings and beads.

As you probably know, I buy most of my supplies from

Whitstable Stamp Craft

Freebie Friday

Happy Friday

Today the lovely Margret at DS4J has a freebie for you all, she is so generous as she does this every first Friday of the month, and this month it is all about Christmas.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

The freebie is now ONLY available for downloading in the DS4J Shop, and I have extended the availability time to 3 days (2-4 November), after which it will be available for purchase in the shop.  There is however no reason to be 'afraid' of setting up an account in the shop as it IS free, and IS easy, and when you add the freebie to the cart and checkout it WILL be free. There is NO obligation to purchase any other items, and of course next month your account will already be set up! I made this decision to prevent any stamp theft.

Here is my card using this digi:

So pop over to the DS4J blog to see all the wonderful cards made by my fellow designers HERE and grab your freebie HERE.

I will be back on Sunday with something from the new release, and oh boy there are some real nice images this week.

Thank you for stopping by, have a great weekend.
