Pocket/Envelope Card

Happy Friday

Earlier this week Kary Lim set a challenge over at STV, to make a pocket card in celebration of the Chinese  New Year. The project is to make a pocket card, and it must include red, Deatails can be found here.

My entry below is made using Spellbinder Labels 8 S5-019, Classic Ovals S4-110 and Lacey Ovals S4-314.

I created the main pocket with the Labels 8, by cutting two pieces of red CS from the largest of the dies, and taped with red line on three sides, before sticking together, I used my ribbon slotter on the front panel and tread some ribbon through and taped on the reverse side. I then stuck these together to form a pocket. The pull-out card is also made using various sizes of Labels 8. The sentiment and frame is stamped in Memento Ladybug using the set Dreams from Gina K Designs. DP, buttons and tassel are from my stash.

Thank you for dropping by

Face Book Stamp TV Challenge

Happy Saturday

I have just returned from teaching a class of lovely ladies how to make sugar roses for cakes, and a very pleasant morning it was.

Now for the challenge card I have made for the challenge posted by the awesome Lee, over on the STV FB page, we were challenged to use plaid:

The stamp sets I used are this months one free with three You've Got Style and the lovely set that coordinates with spellbinders Ribbon Tags 2 & 3, and designed by the uber talented Tami Mayberry called Special Occasion Tags.

The ribbon and DP are from the STV Kit True Love, this is a really beautiful set and well worth checking out!

Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend

Time for a Calendar

Happy Thursday

Here is a project I would of liked to post earlier, but due to the UK postal service the stamp sets did not arrive until last Saturday:

January!

I have used a Papermania Bare Desk Calendar for this project, I picked this up at my local Hobby Craft for around £5.00.

Firstly I decorated the back page of the calendar with some Card and DP the DP is an old stack from my stash by K and Company.

For the January page, I made my own DP using Brilliance ink Platinum planet on a plain blue card stock. The stamp set is Wishing you Joy.

I stamped the Calendar Grid with Memento Tuxedo Black as I did with the images, they are all available at Gina K Designs, the stamp sets used are Celebrate the Season (snowman), and Winter Wonderland (mittens, skates and sled)

February

This page of the calendar is for a challenge over at Stamp TV, Suzanne has asked us to

Make it LOVE-ly!!

So as I was working on the calendar, I thought I would enter with this:

The roses are based on a technique from the new book by Melanie Muenchinger, called A Year of flowers, and wow what an amazing book it is.

The book is available Here, and is based on one of her stamp sets by the same name, available Here. The hearts are made using SU punches, and the sentiments are from various Gina K sets.

Thank you for stopping by :-)

Missing Dogs and Tami's Inspirational Challenge

Happy Friday

Nearly the weekend, and looking forward to recharging my batteries with the family, term starts on Monday for me, so hi ho and off to work I will go:-)

I have been busy the last couple of days, trying to help where I can with some stolen Tibetan Spaniels, this has also inspired me to volunteer for "Lost Dog" a free service entirely run by volunteers to help reunite dogs with their owners. The dog theft market is again on the rise, and unless we stand up to these despicable criminals, and in my opinion change the laws regarding animal theft, and make it a harsh custodial sentence, things will not change.

The distress to owners and to the pets is very real and extremely harmful!

Below is a poster about the missing tibbies, believed to be taken by travellers and probably on there way to Ireland, originally six dogs went missing, one found it's way home and two were found at a travellers site near to where they were stolen. THREE ARE STILL MISSING! I will leave you to make your mind up as to whether travellers are the culprits in this crime!

The Daily Mail has run an article and there is a campaign on Face Book, PLEASE if you know anything get in touch, I beg you.

Ok on a lighter note, and what you usually expect from me is a card, so here is the challenge card for the delightful Tami Mayberry's challenge, set last Monday, the challenge is to be inspired by the new Gina K papers from the new Stamp TV kit True love, here is a picture Tami posted to inspire us!

My set has not arrived yet, so I took inspiration from the picture and also from a card posted by the wonderful Tina Gilliland and can be seen Here

I started by cutting out the card base and layers with Spellbinders Labels 21 S5-027, I used some rainbow paper from my scrap box and stamped an old background stamp in Memento Rose Bud, the hearts are from Papermania and came to me by way of a friend, thank you Nicke :-)

The white layer was passed through a Cuttlebug folder called Seeing Spots.

The sentiment is by Gina K and is called Love Notes, also cut out with a Labels 21 die and the edges inked in Memento Angel Pink, The pearls were also a gift from the same friend.

Sorry to have started todays post on such a sad note, but please remember to keep your eyes and ears open, as these babies could be anywhere in the country by now.

Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for stopping by.

Gina K Winter Swap

Hello

Last year I participated in the winter swap at STV, I am sorry but I did not think to take pictures of the cards I made, but yesterday I received in the post the swaps, and I thought I would share them with you,

Sorry the pictures are not brilliant, but the cards are stunning and have given me some wonderful inspiration for future cards I make!

There is now a Gina K card swap with flowers  so check out the link and if you can participate, I can assure you it is so much fun!

If you do not have any Gina K stamps I strongly suggest you check out her web site here I promise you the quality of the stamps are second to none, and I rarely buy any other brand, in fact in 2011 I purchased only two single stamp from another company, but I do warn you these products come with a health warning - YOU WILL GET HOOKED, not only on the wonderful images Gina and her design team produce, but the quality as well.  If you are planning in the coming year to treat yourself to some new stamps then in my humble opinion you will not go wrong with Gina K Designs! Not only are the stamps excellent,  every month there is a one free with three, and if you purchase six sets you also get to choose another set free, Gina is very generous, she also has some amazing offers throughout the year, so keep an eye out for those :-)

Thank you for stopping by
